Week 2 Recap

VARSITY:
The Falcons had a successful weekend at the Cascade Tournament, bringing in their first wins of the season. La Salle beat Elmira and Stayton in pool play, but lost to Seaside in 2. They earned 2nd in their pool and advanced to the championship bracket. They beat Tillamook in 3 (20-25, 25-13, 15-13) and Cascade in 2 (25-16, 26-24) to advance to the championship game against defending state champions, Sisters. The Falcons played tough but couldn't clinch the win. They lost in 2, 19-25 and 25-27. The team showed great improvement throughout the day and are starting to work well together on the court.


Stat leaders for the weekend:

Haley Thul: 32 kills, 56 assists, 9 aces

Meghan Ressler: 33 kills

Noel DeLeone: 38 assists

Ali Brown: 29 kills

Elle D'Amore: 23 digs, 11 aces


The Falcons clinched their home opener in a convincing style, taking down the Stayton Eagles in 3 (25-15, 25-13, 25-10). It was a great team effort, with all members of the squad making a showing on the court. They appreciated the excellent fan support! Stat leaders for the night included Haley Thul with 4 aces, 15 assists, 9 kills and 8 digs. Meghan Ressler with 9 kills and 5 digs. Elle D'Amore and Delaney Unruh anchored the defense with 15 digs and 5 digs, respectively.

JUNIOR VARSITY:
Both JV teams clinched home wins over Stayton, improving their records to 3-0. Stats and game scores to come!

UP NEXT: The Falcons take on the Astoria Fisherwomen at home on Tuesday, September 21st. The Falcons are on the road to Madras on Thursday, September 23rd. All three teams will be competing in competitive tournaments on Saturday, September 25th. Varsity will be at Sisters, Junior Varsity 1 at West Linn and Junior Varsity 2 at North Marion.
