Week 1 Recap

VARSITY:
The Varsity team has had a rough start, facing a tough Valley Catholic squad and making a long road trip to Seaside. The Valiants offense overpowered the Falcons, handing them their first loss of the season. The Falcons looked much better in their match against Seaside, but are still working out the kinks. With eight new players on the roster, the Falcons are committed to working hard and know that they are capable of having a great season.


La Salle (0) vs. Valley Catholic (3): 17-25, 15-25, 22-25
Elle D'Amore had 17 digs and 3 serving aces. Meghan Ressler had 3 serving aces and Ali Brown pounded down 8 kills.

La Salle (0) vs. Seaside (3); 22-25, 24-26, 21-25
Haley Thul had 9 kills and handed out 13 assists. Meghan Ressler had 7 kills and 3 solo blocks. Elle D'Amore anchored the defense with 13 digs.


JUNIOR VARSITY:
Both Junior Varsity teams have started out with a bang, going 2-0 on the road.


JV1 beat Valley Catholic in 2, and beat Seaside 25-16, 25-14. Claire Grange had 5 kills and 2 solo blocks, and Natalie Schlechter added 4 kills. Gaby Timmen hammered in 11 aces and 4 digs Sophia Pollock handed out 15 assists and Maile Symonds added 4 digs.

JV2 beat Valley Catholic in 3, and took care of Seaside in 2, beating the Seagulls 25-8 and 25-16. They took care of business in the first game, but let Seaside hang a little closer in the second. Katelynn Ion hammered down 11 aces. Sterling Swift and Lauren Paradis each had a solo block.

UP NEXT: The Falcons next match is at home on Tuesday, September 14th against Stayton. Game times are 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.
